Description: Vintage Framed Handmade Fabric Mola Kuna Native American Panama Frog Animal 15"H This beautiful vintage Mola fabric textile will make an excellent addition to your collection. It features a fabric assemblage with a black background and bright colorful stitched pieces representing what appears to be a frog/reptile, monkey or another unknown animal. It is in what appears to be the original framing which is composed of a small center frame around the Mola, with the smaller front frame attached to a wooden structure covered in burlap style material with stretched inside of a matching outer frame. Will blend perfectly in collections ranging from Central / South American Folk Art, Oceanic Art, Primitive, Outsider, Naïve, Mid Century Modern, MCM and modern art styles from artists such as Keith Haring whose art is reminiscent of this style of folk art. It does have some wear including marks/scratches/dents on the wooden frames, crudely cut/joined corner joints, the burlap is loose with slack in the surface and more so please read complete details below and review photos closely for condition. If shipping to your location is significantly less than the listing shipping price, I will happily refund the difference after the item has shipped. Thank you and enjoy! ITEM DETAILS: Approximate weight is 1 lb 6 ozs totalMeasures approximately 1.75" deep x 15" tall x 17.875" wide overall on the outside of the outer frame. The smaller frame measures approximately .75" x 8" x 10.25". The front facing portion of the Mola measures approximately 7" x 9.25" overall not including any portion of the material that is stretched back into the frame mounting. Condition: In vintage pre-owned handmade condition with wear including scratches/scuffing/abrasions on the wooden frames, crudely cut & assembled joints, visible nail heads & nail holes in the framing, the framing is not perfectly square and is at a bit of an angle, gaps in the wood joints, the burlap is somewhat loose and has slack in the surface, naturally loose & shedding fibers of the burlap, stains, the framing overall doesn't lay flat and is somewhat warped, uneven edges/shapes/form/cuts/joints, fading, dents, dings, wood surface finish loss, unevenly finish wood surface, the hanger that is currently on it is made of 2 staples and a piece of fishing line which I would highly recommend replacing before hanging it on a wall, visible stitches/holes in the fabric, discoloring, dirt, dust, grime, lent, loose fibers, splinters/splintering, rough wood on the back structure, some of the back frame supports are thicker than the others so they stick out from the back surface, rough edges/corners, chipping on the wood surface, and overall wear from age and handling. Please see photos for details.Age/era: Unknown, I am guessing that it was made pre-1990 but I cannot guaranteeOrigin: PanamaMarks: Unsigned, there are random number marks on the back of the wood pieces but I think they were likely made by the framerMaterials: Unknown fabric materials, wood, burlap type material, nails, fishing line, metal staples PURCHASE DETAILS: QUESTIONS: I actively try to disclose all issues that I find with the piece and prefer to have a smooth transaction for both of us so please message any questions/concerns regarding the listing PRIOR to bidding/purchaseRETURNS: Items must be returned via the exact method and packaging as the original shipment including tracking/etc. Refund will be made once the item has arrived back to me in original condition with no damage.
