The country of first publication was the United States, preceding publication in the United Kingdom by six months. This was a consequence of the many last minute changes which Churchill insisted be made to the London Cassell edition, which he considered to be definitive. The books were a major commercial success in Britain and the United States. This first edition appeared in six volumes; later editions appeared in twelve and four volumes, and there is also a single-volume abridged version. For your review, I also have a complete six volume set of this series in lesser condition without original dust jackets, also listed on EBAY. Each volume is priced at just $35.95 per book. I offer multiple item discounts of up to 20% off, so if you were to put all five of these volumes into your shopping cart, they would show a 20% discount reflecting a net price of $28.76/each or just $143.80 for this five volume collection. In September 2021 there was a major Rare Book Dealer selling this same First Edition Set for $1,900.00! This is a great investment opportunity. I will ship these books via USPS Media Mail, unless you choose an expedited service.
