Box reads: This shrunken head mfd by E. Joseph Cossman Co. 7015 sunset blvd Hollywood 28 Calif. It has great head hunter tribe graphics on the box and head is in extremely good shape for its age. Box has some wear but over all great condition for its age and scarcity. Note: Picture 17 is a photo example of a ad in a comic book for the shrunken heads it is not included in this sale! History: Uncle Milton Industries was founded in whimsy. Milton Levine joined forces in 1946 with his brother-in-law after returning home from serving in World War II. He and E. Joseph Cossman sold mail-order oddities such as plastic shrunken heads and toy guns that shot potatoes. After moving to Los Angeles from Pittsburgh, the duo created the first Ant Farm in 1956 by repurposing plastic tissue dispensers and adding sand. they sold 1.5 million rubberized, ersatz “shrunken heads,” 500,000 balloon kits, and 800,000 sets of plastic cowboys and Indians in 1956 alone.It was 1957’s Uncle Milton’s Ant Farms, however, that were bringing in the most capital, with $2 million per year in sales.
