It is embossed on the bottom “Van Melle. Rotterdam. Holland”. Van Nelle was a company a purveyor of tea, tobacco and coffee, and also roasted coffee. Their Art Deco style factory was built between 1925 and 1931 in Rotterdam and is today a national historical monument in the Netherlands and on the list of Unesco world heritage sites.
