Description: This poster was acquired in Copenhagen in 1997 at the artist's opening reception for multiple works on this theme.NOTE that this poster is in near mint condition. The area that appears faded in the third photo is glare from an overhead light. The poster part of a series of six which was made by the Danish artist Knud Odde (1955) to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Danish State Railways (DSB). It features multiple national state railway logos from different countries. This poster is number five of six in the collection.Odde is a self-taught artist who used to write music and play bass guitar in the Danish punk/rock group Sort Sol. He left the band in 2001 to focus on painting and drawing. Odde's works also includes posters for Tivoli Gardens, Paralympic Games in Athens and Copenhagen Jazz Festival, as well as depictions of Hans Christian Andersen (part of this series), Shirley MacLaine, Rainer Maria Rilke, Patti Smith and Miles Davis Some of his works are on display at the National Gallery of Denmark.
