VINTAGE CZECH CIVIL DEFENCE RED CROSS NURSE WOMENS HBT MILITARY COMBAT JACKET

Description: COLD WAR VINTAGE GENUINE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN CIVIL DEFENCE ISSUE RED CROSS NURSES KHAKI HERRINGBONE TWILL HBT COTTON UNIFORM JACKET / FIELD / CHORE JACKET DEADSTOCK & SUPER GRADE-1 CONDITION These lightweight field coats came from the stocks of a large Czech Civil Defence unit whose warehouse was cleared by a friend of mine some years ago. These are rare jackets and elements of this uniform are impossible to find in the UK. The jackets probably date from the 1970's they are made from a khaki tan herringbone twill cotton akin to that used in workwear and chore jackets of the era and of course US and Dutch military shirts, they were part of the standard field uniform issued to Red Cross Nurses and first-aiders serving with the Czechoslovakian Civil Defence Forces. Made by a nationalised clothing factory these jackets have a military appearance and are something of a cross between a lightweight military field jacket and a chore jacket. Jackets feature button front, four button front pockets, red cross patch to left arm (Easy to unstitch and remove without leaving a trace), belt loops at the waist, button adjustment at the cuffs and a button-on hood. CONDITION: Coats are in either dead-stock unused condition or Super-Grade-1 condition, which is as-new but no factory labels so they may have at least been tried on once, some come with factory cardboard labels so there is no doubt they are unused. These jackets have been in storage for decades but there are no flaws to note, there may be some loose threads to buttons but this is how they left the factories! SIZES - PLEASE READ: I have several sizes available, I have done my best to give a rough idea of the equivalent UK women's size but please consult the actual measurements as they come up on the tape: SIZE- 1-42 (Approx. 8 Short) - 40" chest (20" pit-to-pit), 16" under-arm, 16" across the shoulders, 24" from collar seam to bottom hem of jacket. SIZE- 2-45 (Approx 10 Regular) - 44" chest (22" pit-to-pit), 17" under-arm, 17" across the shoulders, 26" from collar seam to bottom hem of jacket. SIZE- 1-51 (Approx 12 Short) - 46" chest (23" pit-to-pit), 15" under-arm, 18" across the shoulders, 25" from collar seam to bottom hem of jacket.
