Description: Vintage Craft Kit Redwood Cuckoo Clock Wall Planter Fad of the Month 1960's Here is an interesting woodworking kit from the 1960's for constructing a redwood cuckoo clock-style wall planter. In original shipping box and appears to be complete but for the tube of "sealant" and the "plastic liner" both of which are easily available. Not meant to be an easy build this should give you a challenge and keep you busy for a good weekend's work. Created for something called the "Fad of the Month Club" this kit was delivered via mail for the hobbyest in the household who had time to do the serious detail work required to make this planter come to life. Even though I was around during this era, I have a hard time imagining this concept as viable, but indeed it was! Officially issued under the auspices of the The National Handcraft Society the "Fad" program was started in 1947 and remained lively into the early 1970's. If you were a member you will probably remember the joy in receiving a surprise box once a month in the mail, and if you were a faithful creator for a whole year you received a National Handcraft Society Pin. WOW! Includes the original box, full instructions, precut redwood, copper sheet, templates, sandpaper, beads, and other minutia. ENJOY!FAD OF THE MONTH!
