VINTAGE CORO SILVER TONE HANGING GREEN RHINESTONE BOW PIN MADE USA

Description: CARL ROSENBERGER & EMANUEL COHN began their jewelry business in New York City in 1901. In 1939 they moved here to Providence R.I. The CORO plant, at one time, was the largest employer in the state. In 1944 CORO opened a subsidiary they called VENDOME. It was named for the Parisian Jewelry trade center - La Place de VENDOME. That department used only the finest crystals from Austria and beads from Czechoslovkia. In 1953 they separated from CORO. CORO ceased business in 1979. I've had access to a lot of CORO jewelry starting with my first job "carding" earrings. I have a large collection of CORO and will be sharing it with you over the next few months. For your consideration today is a classic, sweetheart, bow pin with a hanging green rhinestone heart charm. The piece measures approximately 1.25" x 1" and weighs in at a delicate 5 grams. The hallmark CORO in script was first used in 1943. The mandatory copyright hallmark of (c) was instituted in 1955. This piece is hallmarked CORO so it was manufactured between 1943 and 1955.
