Description: Vintage solid copper whipping bowl with a wooden handle for hangingThis fully rounded pot is a classic shape utilized by pastry chefs as a " Bain Marie " pot for custard, a double boiler for melting chocolate, and whipping bowl for the best stiff egg whites. SEE PHOTOS This particular version is unmarked but has the appearance of American made Atlas pots with solid copper construction including a hanging loop and wooden handle with a cast brass base attached to the bowl with copper rivets. SEE PHOTOS Measures approx. 8 1/2" across the opening 4 1/2" deep7 1/2" handleoverall hanging length is approximately 15 1/2" SEE PHOTOS The condition of this useful kitchen pot is used.I took time to partially clean the pot revealing a beautiful Salmon pink hue to the copper. The interior of the pot glows with some dark colored spots. The exterior of the bowl has dark spots and a dent near the handle. The handle is solid. The rivets are firmly affixed. The wood of the handle has noticeable patina from usage and is smooth in my hand. The wood does have a blemish near the handle eye that can be felt when gliding my fingers across it but it is not rough.
