This is an expandable and collapsible bookend featuring extremely well detailed and attractive Bulldog heads on each end. The concept of adjusting the expansion of the bookend for your specific amount of books, then collapsing and folding down the uprights for storage is still a great idea today. Fully closed, the bookend is 12" long. It can be expanded, by pulling each end, to 22". Each upright measures 6 3/4" wide by 4 1/4" tall. Lovely bronze like surface has acquired a beautiful patina over time. The bookend works perfectly and is in beautiful condition. Typical wear to surface consistent with age and use.
