Description: This listing is for a rare carved wooden totem of a pair of Sanxingdui people on a wooden base. The artwork is superb. The Sanxingdui people were reported to have inhabited Northern China during the ancient kingdom of Shu. They are represented with angular human features, exaggerated eyes, some with protruding pupils; snub noses and large upper ears. The totem shows scuffs and damage to one side of the hat on the figure on the left, as shown in the photos. It measures 12.5” high x 9.25” diameter. View photos for any and all condition issues.
