Description: This is a vintage Case 6249 “Copperhead” pattern pocket knife. The tang stamp is CASE XX USA 1 dot 1979.The knife is 4” closed with brass liners and pins.The blade steel is CV (carbon) steel.Both blades have strong snap with half stops.Both blades are tight with no side-to-side wobble. The genuine jigged bovine bone handles have no cracks or chips.Light colored areas, Case collectors call this “Appaloosa” bovine bone.A mint knife – never used, carried, or sharpened. Original factory blade finish and edges.Included is a vintage Case “pumpkin” box that originally held six of the 6249 pattern.The handles on this knife were crafted from South American Zebu cattle shin bone. Genus/Species - Bos indicus or Bos taurus indicus.
