Design Inspiration: A lampas border on a canetille background.It was ordered for the summer furniture of the Queen Marie-Antoinette's bed chamber at at the Chateau de Versailles at the time of her marriage to the future Louis XVI in 1770. The border depicting roses and lilacs on its apple-green chequer background framed the panels and was used as a leading edge on the curtains, bed-hangings and on furniture. Measurements: Length: 44” from top of holder to bottom of the tassel Width: 10” brass holder. The fabric width is 9”.
