Description: Vintage Blenko Pitcher Hand Blown Glass Topaz Handle Rim 9428 Hank Adams 1994 The glass objects made at Blenko are a combination of the designer's imagination and the skilled hands of the craftsmen who transform the molten liquid into shimmering solids. The hand method of manufacture used at Blenko create a completely different product form machine-made glass. Once the craftsman has initially shaped the glass object, it is then transferred to a pontil rod and finished entirely by hand. The pontil mark on the bottom of each piece of glass is one of the distinctive marks that reveals the Blenko handmade process. Because Blenko glass is made in small batches and the processes are all operated by hand, it is common to find bubbles, lines and the individual marks of the craftsman. These are not flaws, but rather the distinctive marks of a handmade object. Good pre-owned, vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Photos 14, 15 are photos from the 1994 catalog.
