Her plaid outfit is trimmed in red velvet.My mother purchased this doll for me in the Toy Dept. at B Altman in NYC the day after Christmas in the 1960's. I was told that she was for "display" but I would often take her off my shelf to hold her and read to her. She has been stored away in a box in my linen closet for years - although I would take out from time to time in an effort to remember.
