Vintage ANRI Folk Art Carved Wood Happy Man & Babushka Woman Sweeping ~ Italy Click images to enlarge Description This charming vintage ANRI carved wood couple features a happy man and a babushka woman sweeping. It was acquired at an estate auction in Western Illinois. It is appealing, desirable, & collectible. The Italian ANRI company made these wood carved figurines from 1912 until the mid 1960's. They were hand carved by people who lived in the Groeden Mountain area & were made to resemble actual people they knew. Over time the carvings lost their "individuality" and became more like caricatures. This item is in its original condition as we acquired it, with no cleaning done, ensuring the provided photos accurately reflect its current appearance and condition. They measure approximately 5" tall. This will make a fine addition to any home or collection. The photos are an important part of the description.
