Description: Are you under a stay-at-home order like we are? Want to give the kids something new to do that doesn't involve a computer screen? Looking to recreate the Beth Harmon experience? Want to play checkers as well? Here's your chance! We offer a handy little book on checkers; it contains lots of analysis on checker openings. We also offer Mitchell's Guide to the Game of Chess, which tells you how to play chess. The checker book is hardback and uses traditional checker notation; the chess book is softcover and is in descriptive notation. The set is an unusual pocket set. The board is 4 3/4 inches by 4 inches, each square is 3/8 by 3/8 of an inch; Kings are 1/2 inch tall. Please note that the squares are blank for the light squares and boxed for the dark squares. There is also a checker set. Please note that the pieces are bit mismatched, especially the White checker pieces. Pieces are plastic, board is wood. Fun for those who are locked in! We combine shipping-to combine, put everything in a basket and then ask for an invoice. This comes from the private library of Allan Troy, late owner of Troy's Chess Shoppe, Torrance, California. Follow us for our ongoing sale of 18th, 19th, and 20th century chess books and clocks! We are put up a pendulum tilt clock from the 19th century! Because of stay-at-home orders in Arizona and its problems, we are lengthening our shipping time window to 20 business days. We normally ship in less time but we cannot control these circumstances. We regret the inconvenience and hope to return to ten days in the near future.
