Vintage 8ct 333 Yellow Gold Box Link Necklace - German - 86cm

Description: Vintage 8ct 333 Yellow Gold Box Link Necklace - German - 86cm - 1970s. Solid 8ct Yellow gold. Hallmarked “333” (8ct gold percentage 33.3%) This necklace is in good condition for its age. It has one slight bend on one of the links, it is otherwise in good condition with only a few fine scratches and minor wear. This necklace is German made and it is dated to the mid 1970s. The link style is a box link. The gold purity has been tested as this isn’t a common gold purity and it was confirmed be approximately 33.3% gold (solid 8ct) Technically not recognised as gold here in Australia because our minimum gold standard is 9ct, this piece does contain a German standardised amount of gold so I am selling it based on this. (And age, condition, wearability ect) The necklace has had one repair made to it. It has a new second hand clasp which was taken off a 14ct gold necklace. The clasp has been tested and confirmed to be 14ct, although it bares no hallmarks. One of the links is bent, it has no cracks and no noticeable signs of weakness so it is fine to wear as is. Some of the links are twisted too but this is difficult to notice in a necklace of this length. All of the links are soldered. Every solder joint has been examined, they are all in good condition and all are properly bonded. This necklace is handmade. It is high quality and shows no noticeable imperfections. I am unsure if the bent link is a manufacturing defect or if it is post production damage. The bent link does not affect the wearability of the necklace, it is really only noticeable under a close examination of the chain or if you run your fingers down the whole length of the chain. Sold as is. The necklace is 86cm in length. The links are 1.5mm in width and thickness. Weight shown in photos. In perfectly wearable condition. Will be posted with a jewellery pouch.
