Vintage 60’s Green Metal COLEMAN Chest Cooler Diamond Logo Retro Party Beer Soda

Description: Offering for sale….a vintage 1960’s green metal COLEMAN COOLER with removable lid that’s held in place by clamping the handle up and over the lid. It’s more unique than the typical cooler with a flip up lid. This cooler is also a smaller more portable size measuring 13.5” high and 16 high with handle up and locked, 18” wide and 10.5” deep. Embossed on plastic bottom offers the following information…”6 44, MADE BY THE COLEMAN CO INC, WICHITA KANS, USA”. The model #6 44 is the date code and I believe it stands for March 1964 or close to that date. I really can’t find anything official how to read date codes, but this date is close…and certainly was produced in the early to mid 60’s. A retro and cool useable cooler…retro embossed Diamond logo design on front and Diamond design on the lid. A must have for pontoon cruising around the lake on a lazy Sunday afternoon, pool party or pack it up for the Route 66 road trip in the vintage Airstream RV. Coleman has always been known as a quality cooler that lasts and insulated well to keep ice from melting…similar to a Yeti or Stanley style cooler/cup. Please see actual photos for visual description…a small ding on a corner of the lid, small surface rust spot on lid, small dent on plastic lining to the inside of lid, typical scratching from use and age. Inside tray is missing, drain plug is intact, added bonus…a bottle opener above the drain plug! Considering this retro collectible is approximately 60 years old, it’s in very nice condition!!
