Vintage 40s James William Ashcroft Landscape Oil Painting Wall Hanging Fine Art

Description: Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage landscape painting by artist, James William Ashcroft (1899-1971). This painting is signed in the lower left-hand corner of the canvas, as is also dated (1941) - see photos. Measurements: Including the wooden surround frame, approx. 27.25" wide x 23.5" tall. The visible artwork alone measures approx. 21.5" wide x 17.75" tall. Condition: Good vintage condition, but does have some very minor cosmetic stuff worth mentioning. There appears to be a teeny tiny amount of paint flaking within the area of the large left tree (see photos). It's not very much, and isn't readily detectible, but is there. This can quite easily be professionally restored. As this is an expensive piece, we chose ourselves to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired - we'll leave it up to the purchaser to decide on what they want to do. Aside from that, there are no rips, holes, tears, stains, repairs, etc. The painting was professionally framed at one point in time. There is a wire hanging mechanism on the back side for hanging.
