Description: DETAILS: All of the society ladies and Hollywood celebrities loved their fur pelt stoles in the 1930s and 40s. This one uses three pelts, each attached to the other at about the middle of the body. FUR/OTHER MATERIALS: The former owner felt that these were mink. After some research, I think she was correct. The underfur is soft and dense with lustrous guard hairs. The color is primarily platinum/beiges, with cafe-au-lait color down the center back and tails with guard hairs that turn darker brown at the tip. Tails are thicker than another stole in my possession that I think is marten. The throats and bellies are lighter cream and patchy in color at the throat. The pelts are finished underneath with brown grosgrain fabric. SIZE: Each pelt measures 27-28" from tip of nose to tip of tail, and up to 3.5" wide. The entire stole measures 50" long. CLOSURES: The first pelt has an alligator clip attached under the chin - see closeup. You can use the clip to attach your stole to the collar of a jacket or the lapel of your coat. That pelt also has a brown crochet covered ball with snap on its front foot that fastens to another ball with snap attached to a front paw of the lest pelt CONDITION: No issues noted. The fur is not shedding, the underlying skins seems soft and supple. All pelt limbs are present.
