Description: Please do not buy if you are under 18 years of age and close this item. It is not for you. Vintage 1940 work on many areas of sexual relationships. Although there are some areas that could be consistent with current advice, much is archaic, to the point of being laughable. Interestingly, there is a foreword by Margaret Sanger, and the author's perspective on birth control was to be in favor of it as allowing women to progress in ways they had not been able to in the past. As noted in the photos, this was the personal possession of a person who wrote their name loudly and boldly on the inside front and rear cover pages. There is shelf wear and somewhat of a moth-eaten look to parts of the back and front cover, especially on top. The binding is intact, though is kind of "ratty" looking top and bottom, as the photos show. Someone has taped a loose-ish spine cover with a very lightweight cellophane tape. You can see it on the photos. There are no missing, torn, dog-eared, loose, or bent pages. 320pp. There is no index, but there is an extremely detailed Table of Contents, which I included. I'm not sure this is a true first edition--it is a first English edition, the original apparently being published in German.
