Vintage 1980's Shure SM58 / SM78 cardioid dynamic microphone w extras # 1

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a quality early Shure Brothers SM-58 dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1980's that has been cleaned and tested. This was the earlier American made 80's model with better quality control than the later examples and is one of the most reliable, rugged all general purpose mics ever made. It comes with a period Shure A25 model mic clip, cable. dta sheet, mic pouch and box in which to store the contents. Pic # 2 is from a 1980's Shure catalog that shows most of the mics basic info. These are highly sought after by musicians today because of their ability to take a beating and excellent sound characteristics. Many musicians prefer these over the later SM-58's that have been built in Mexico and China. The SM-58 has a superb frequency response and set at low impedance giving you a warm smooth tone with plenty of bass. These are uni-directional as well cancelling out most background noise. These mics are built like tanks and can be handheld or placed in a mic clip. As you can see there are typical signs of wear on the original painted handle and original front globe. The label is completely legible and looks great. This example shows scuff marks from years of use situated in the center area of the handle. The mics handle is free of any dents or fractures however. The front grill has zero dents, odors or tarnish. A new inner foam insert had been installed and works excellent. I usually replace these as the older ones are in rough and degraded condition. It helps greatly with acoustics and prevents the dreaded "pops" from breathing or windy conditions. Mic is 100% complete and solid. Nothing loose. The XLR pins on the mic have been cleaned ensuring a perfect signal once an XLR cable is attached. Microphone is a very conservative 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. The mic comes with the older original A-25 model Shure mic clip that's shows very lite wear but works perfectly. Grips the mic firmly and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. The clip shows a bit of wear. The original Shure black vinyl mic pouch helps to protect the mic while not in use. It looks excellent and the zipper works perfectly. The data sheet shows lite discoloration but is in very good shape and has a tone of technical info on this mic that will come in handy. The standard XLR cable to operate the mic is also included. Excellent condition and 15 feet long. Soft, pliable and free of wear. It has the two Switchcraft male and female XLR end connectors. The original bow is hard to find and it's in very good condition. It still has it's two inner foam inserts to keep everything safe and snug. If you need a perfect working American SM-58 and don't mind a little wear (character) than this will do nicely.
