Description: This vintage 1966 IBM Selectric I typewriter, Model 71, in a striking red color is a true gem for any collector or enthusiast of classic vintage office equipment. This machine was made in the United States and comes with its original promotional materials, making it a great addition to any IBM or vintage office gear collection. The IBM Selectric I series is highly regarded for its quality and durability, and this typewriter is no exception. With its vintage design and modern capabilities, it would make a great conversation starter in any office or home. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of IBM history with this vintage typewriter. This typewriter would look fantastic on any desk, and is great for a collector. Will be carefully packaged and sold as-is. This 58 year old IBM Selectric is in terrific shape but needs some repair to restore it to full functionality. The typewriter powers, progresses paper, and types wonderfully, but the forward progression between each letter needs correction, because the typed letters begin to stack on top of one another due to lack of forward progression. Also, the "U" key is stuck. More than that about the condition is unknown, as this typewriter has been unused for the past several decades. The typewriter comes with several original documents which are in excellent shape (other than the plain envelope which has tattered edges as seen in the photographs). With some repair, this beautiful vintage 1966 Selectric could be restored to terrific shape, is a stunning classic red, and should last for decades more to come!
