Description: What a marvelous find! This listing is for a set of dated, vintage Stotter glasses! A set of 6, red/green and gold, dated 1965, H.J. Stotter, thermalene Scotch on the Rocks glasses in the ORIGINAL box! I don't believe that these items have been used! The enclosed original blue manufacturing tag reads: "Your new Stotter glasses...created of break resistant plastic that can be put in your dishwasher, BUT be sure to place on top shelf (away from the heating element). If properly handled, these eye-catching glasses will give long lasting satisfaction. H.J. Stotter, INC. New York, N.Y. 10010. Each glass measures 3 3/8" across x 4" tall. They have a pattern of wide red and narrow green and gold plaid tartan stripes. The box states: #97-84 Holiday Plaid, The pattern ends on the back side and leaves a 1/2" gap of clear plastic. They have a heavy clear base and each glass has "65" in gold print on the front bottom. The bases are stamped "H.J. Stotter Inc. NY, USA 2". The H.J. Stotter company was based in New Jersey and manufactured injection molded plastic tumblers and tableware. The brand achieved popularity in the 1960's and 1970's, when its colorful plastic tumblers were sold at high-end retail shops. The tumblers and bar ware were typically clear, with bright patterns of flowers in the style of other homeware companies of the era. Because of their unbreakability and festive appearance, they became ubiquitous cocktail hour props for middle class sunrooms, pools and decks. Unlike brands like Tupperware, Stotter tumblers were harder acrylic or polypropylene. The brand is now known as Stotter and Norse and headquartered in Plainfield, New Jersey. These items are in excellent condition. Still in their original tissue paper and original shipping box! IF they were used, it wasn't often! The color is clear and bright. They have no stress marks or discolorations. They do not smell of smoke, mildew, must, mothballs or have pet odor. There are some small imperfections (see photos #13 -16) inherit to the pieces and some small scuffs. The box has some notations and some light stains.
