Description: Here we have a Gorgeous Original 1965 or 1968 Gibson L-5 CES Sunburst Archtop Florentine Cutaway Hollowbody Guitar with the Original Hard Case! One of Gibsons vintage flagship guitars in the flesh. This guitar just returned from a Buffalo NY Luthier who replaced the strings and set it up. Guitar plays beautifully and is really a one owner as the original owner passed away last year at the age of 99! The body condition is excellent with little wear. Back has almost no markings, surprisingly. One notable small surface crack on the front to the right of the knobs. 24.75" scale length and 1-9/16"" nut width. Orange Oval Gibson label. Serial number 512964. Gibson did also use this serial number again in 1968, so it's possible it could be a 1965 or 1968. Black witch hat knobs. Silver plated L-5 Tailpiece with Gold emblem.
