Description: Vintage Rare 1960s Philips 12” Inch Blackbird Challenge Globe on Solid Wooden Stand This sale is for the lovely Vintage Philips Blackbird 12" Challenge Black Globe on a solid Wooden Base. This rare globe with the black background and bright colour locations were only made for a few years in the 1960s by George Philip & Son Ltd of London and Replogle Inc Chicago The globe has a solid wood base with gold colour fixings. Height is approx 40cm. The globe is in good vintage used condition with signs of age and use which I think does add to its age and charm. There are marks across the globe which I have tried to capture in the photos. The top mount at some point has come out and been replaced with a screw by the previous owner, possibly an easy repair - see last picture of what the top mount should be.
