Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The EB/Forster 197 automatic movement runs for anywhere from several minutes to several hours. When it runs it keeps relatively accurate time. The date wheel completes rolling over at approximately 1:15 am. When the watch is turned upside down and then back upright a slight sound is made which suggests that the oscillating weight is a bit loose. And although the crown winds smoothly when being wound a clicking sound is made. Given these issues and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1960/70's Titanus diver has a glossy black dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black fat font bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely with the butterscotch lume dot complementing the dial and patina beautifully. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL - ANTIMAGNETIC" with "100%" followed by "WATERPROOF TESTED" and "20 ATMOSPHERES" stamped in the center. The crystal should be replaced as it shows swirls/scratching on its underbelly along with dust/debris. The 25 jewels EB/Forster 197 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function runs for anywhere from several minutes to several hours. When it runs it keeps relatively accurate time. When the watch is turned upside down and then back upright a slight sound is made which suggests that the oscillating weight is a bit loose. The date wheel completes rolling over at approximately 1:15 am. The semi-quickset date function works by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21.5 and 1:15 marks until the desired date as been reached. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown on several occasions an average of 39 full revolutions the movement had a power reserve period ranging from several minutes to several hours. Although the crown winds smoothly it makes a clicking sound when being wound. Given these issues and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 48 mm. A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
