Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a nice Turner 99 model dynamic microphone from the 1940's complete with a period Astatic E6G model desk stand. You'll see in pic # 2 an old 1949 Turner advertisement showing specs and priced on these 40's era mics. The 99 model was an affordable, rugged all metal housing with a lower yoke and dynamic element. This mic had a classic style that was copied by several microphone companies from the 1930's and into the 1950's before the style faded out. These Turner models are often mistaken for the more valuable RCA models used in F.D.R fireside chats during the Great Depression as there are many similarities. As seen in the pictures provided this old 99 has a very good overall original finish with small typical wear. The umber gray paint is free of any dents or engravings. There are a few paint chips, scratches and scuffs in the paint however. This one has been tested and while it was used for general broadcasting purposes this example no longer works. The elements often fail at this age but a working one can easily be installed. The original black screen is present and looks perfect. The chrome screen looks great with zero dents or tarnish and the thumbscrews on the yoke look real nice. The cosmetic condition I would rate a conservative 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect. Let the pictures be your guide please. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is a 1950's era Astatic E6G microphone desk stand. This is an aluminum painted base with painted wood stem / riser. The handle was detachable by giving it a half twist and lifting upwards. This model was widely produced by Astatic during the 1940's through 1950's. It was ideal for handling microphone by keeping the wood handle on the mic as very few people actually held the microphone themselves back then. This particular stand has typical lite wear as you can see. Some scuffs, tiny paint chips and scratches located on the base but no dents or fractures. The wood riser looks very nice. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are still present and look great. It will keep the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. Mic stand with mic on top is appx 11 inches tall X 5 inches wide. The stand really compliments the Turner 99 as well. The 99 with it's industrial, deco look is quite stunning and will look amazing anywhere it sits in the home, office or studio. An instant conversation piece. And as with all my items... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
