Vintage 1950’s L. Chester Natural Winter Mink Coat and Hat

Description: This Vintage 1950’s L. Chester Natural Winter Mink Coat and Sandy Braeburn hat are simply stunning! The coat was hand made for the original owner in the late 1950’s out of Natural Winter Mink by L. Chester out of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Ft. Wayne was historically a center of the early fur trade in the Midwestern US and L. Chester was one of the companies that originated around that trade. The hat is by Sandy Braeburn who was known for her hand made fur and ladies hats in the 1950’s and 60’s. Both pieces are in beautiful vintage condition. Because the coat was custom made for the original owner, there is no size tag. Measurements of the coat are similar to a today’s size Large. Note – See the measurements below, this is an estimate based on today’s sizing. Material – 100% Mink with silk embroidered floral lining. Vintage – Yes Condition – Excellent vintage condition. A few very light stains on the interior silk lining and the original belt is missing (Coat has two open slits on either side for a belt to go through, but not noticeable when wearing). Lining also has the original owner’s initials. Construction Details – Two pockets, slit for a belt, 4 hook & eye closures.
