Vintage 1940's Turner 9D / T-55 dynamic microphone Hi Z harp w cable Shure Ampex

You are looking at a unique 1940's / 50's era Turner T-55 based on the more common 9D model microphone with a dynamic element and all metal housing with satin chrome finish. This early 9D model has the riveted Turner badge showing it's true age and it comes with the short cable in which to operate. The 9D has a very cool deco vibe to it and will fit into any 1940's / 50 environment. Now I have never come across a Turner T-55 model mic before and I'm not sure why Turner called this the T-55? Perhaps it was sold with other audio equipment? Shure Brothers did the same with many of their mics from over the decades as well so that is my best guess? Anyways it kind of makes the mic just a little cooler having the unique model #. If you know why this was called the T-55 I'd be curious to know? Pic # 2 shows the P9D model and it's basic characteristics which was basically just a 9D model with the "push to talk" button. The 9D was great for general broadcasting and dispatch purposes. This would be a great mic if you have a HAM Radio as well. It's set at high impedance being void of bass with a very 100% clear signal. No issues. The tone on this mic has an old school "rockabilly" vibe. It's void of bass with a dirtier sound and these mics can be fun to play around with for vocals when singing due to their unique sound. The 9D / T-55 came with The On / Off switch as you can see in pic # 6 which slides smoothly and works perfectly. The satin chrome on this mic looks pretty good overall despite the typical wear. There are several small scratches with lite chrome loss but zero dents or fractures. The original black cloth is free on any fading, rips or holes. The Turner badge is completely legible and well secured. Mic is solid with zero loose parts inside or out. The original element is still inside as well. Nothing has been modified. This mic will screw on to any American desk or floor stand as well with it's universal mic stand threading. I would give a this mic a conservative 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. Again, functions like new. To operate the mic you'll be getting a vintage short cable that has the quality Switchcraft male XLR end connector. The short cable screws onto the mic like the old cable would. Once screwed into place you may attach any longer XLR cable of choice making this very practical and you'll never have to worry about damaging the older cable or losing it.
