They are marked "Soft Spun Sanitary Tissues" "Stevens & Thompson Paper Co. Greenwich, N. Y.". Soft Spun Sanitary Tissues were trademarked in 1939, so they are likely from the 1940s. Nicely illustrated box shows uses on one side, and has a perforated opening on the other.
