It does carry through to the outside. It is hard to see if not actually looking for it. Please see pictures. The cup has no chips or crazing. And for displaying, looks fantastic. So if you need this cup to complete a set or one to display, this one is going cheap. Gold trim is not marked. Handle has no wear. Very clean cup. Buy with CONFIDENCE! We don't post a picture and tell you to get the full condition based on one sketchy picture. We try to accurately describe the condition the best we can. Noting any flaws, defects, etc. We do try to be of assistance in this matter. We also post as many pictures as we feel needed to give you the ability to see the overall condition.
