Vintage 14" Madame Alexander 1939 Composition Miss America Doll

Description: Vintage 1939 14" Composition Wendy Ann as Miss America by Madame Alexander This very special and rare sweetheart of a doll is Madame Alexander’s Wendy Ann dressed as Little Miss America, issued in 1939. She is in excellent condition considering she is 85 years old. She is all original, including her flag, which she holds in her one-of-a-kind right hand. Her hand is in a fist position with a hole to hold the flag staff. I have seen these dolls for sale without the fisted right hand and they are not original to this doll, as the correct doll with the correct hand is very hard to find. She had a few vertical craze lines that had not lifted on her arms and legs, which I treated and sealed. I believe the original doll came with a little hat, but I have never come across one with the hat, so added a red satin bow to her lovely blonde mohair wig. I thought it appropriate to list her today to remind all American doll-lovers to remember to vote in our upcoming presidential election. My husband and I voted today by mail. What collector wouldn't want a beautiful and vintage doll to commemorate this very important election for the future of our beloved country?
