It is sewn from a high quality rust/ochre wool twill and lined with linen. It has side gores and a deep profile. This hood pulls on over the head, so will fit a forehead circumference up to 25" - about a men's L-XL. This was made for a comparative study of the Herjolfsnes hoods and caps, and has only been tried on for photographs.
