Description: Many Victorian styles were revived in the late 1920s and 30s, possibly due to the interest in Antiques and also in films that depicting earlier times: Gone With the Wind being one of the more famous. Here we have a good sized table lamp from the 30s that is a good example a brass, marble and glass lamp that interprets an earlier lamp. This lamp is similar to the Massachusetts style of blown glass with cutting. The lamp has a double marble base, brass trim and stem and an oversize font of a purple or light amethyst color, etched with grape clusters and vines. It is large for a font, being 5 inches tall and 5.50 inches wide. Overall the lamp is 16.5 inches tall to the socket and the harp brings it to about 22 inches tall. It appears to have been rewired at some point, but I would recommend re doing it for safety concerns.
