Description: Enhance your Victorian collection with these beautiful F&B antique, foldable Lorgnette reading/opera glasses. The gold frame of these round-shaped glasses is made of high-quality metal that ensures durability. The glasses come with a 29.5” chain that includes glass beads throughout, that adds an extra touch of elegance. These glasses were used for reading or while enjoying the opera! The F&B brand is known for its quality, and these glasses are no exception. Get your hands on these original glasses from the late 1800s-early 1900s and would be a fabulous addition to any antique collection! SLIGHT WEAR ON THE BOTTOM OF NOSE BRIDGE. SLIGHT WEAR ON GLASS, WITH A VERY SMALL CHIP, RIGHT ABOVE THE HANDLE. I’M NO EXPERT, BUT FOR ITS AGE, I THINK THEY’RE IN GOOD CONDITION! THEY HAVE A SPRING MECHANISM/BUTTON THAT WORKS, FOR UNFOLDING. F&B Stamp: The company was called White & Foster from 1873 to 1878. In 1878 the name became Foster & Bailey. From 1898 to around 1951 they were called Theodore W. Foster & Brothers. Both Foster & Bailey and the later Theodore W. Foster & Brothers used the F&B in a flag mark. I do not know if these are gold filled or gold plated. The glasses are 3.25” In Length, 1.5” in width when folded, and 4” in Width when unfolded. The chain is 29.5” Long. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
