Description: Victorian CDV Gladstone look-alike w frock coat, top hat Theweneti Bros, Bath UK This man is quite classy looking, with his cane, top hat and frock coat. He stands full-figure in profile, with quite the air about him. My mother believed this might be a photo of William Gladstone, Prime Minister of England. I'm a bit skeptical, but it is a nice portrait in any case. The card measures 4 x 2.375 inches, and the image measures about 3.625 x 2.25 inches. Overall yellowing to card and image. Fading to image. Spotting to background of image. On the reverse is printed, in addition to my mother's pencil notation "Gladstone,": "ThewenetiBrothers Bath" My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
