Description: DATING TO THE 1880’S FASHIONED OF A RICH SILK BROCADE WITH FEATHER SCROLL WORK AND FLORAL DETAIL. MATCHING DEEP RED WINE SILK TRIMS CUFFS, COLLAR, AND LAPELS WITH A FRONT PANEL IN MATCHING SILK THAT IS HAND SMOCKED IN DIAMONDS AT THE TOP NECKLINE WITH FLAT BELTING ACROSS THE BOTTOM EDGE. INTERIOR TOP HAS BUTTONS WITH A FRONT PANEL CLOSING OVER BENEATH AND A SERIES OF HOOK AND EYES FULLY HIDING THE CLOSURE. THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN COTTON AND MOST UNUSUAL AS IT HAS A BUILT IN BUSTLE ON THE BACK REAR. CONDITION: HEAVY WEAR TO THE LINING SEEN ON THE INTERIOR TAILS AS WELL AS HEAVY ACROSS THE REAR BACK. TWO THUMBPRINTS OF FRAY TO THE SILK PATTERN ARE ON THE RIGHT OUTER ARM NEAR THE SHOULDER WITH SOME SMALL WEAR TO THE BOTTOM WRIST ON EACH SIDE. THE WHITE CORD EDGE DETAILING TRIM ON ONE CUFF IS MISSING WITH SOME SMALL BITES TO THE SILK ON THE ONE WITH THE MISSING CORD.
