It was in the 60’s and 70's that the spotlight of Southern Gospel Music began to truly shine on Vestal. As the HappyQoodmans dominated the concert stages across the country, millions of lives were touched as Vestal sang "God Walks the Dark Hills" and “The Eastern Gate" Though the family group disbanded in the 80's, Vestal continued to sing with her husband Howard, as featured artists of the Gaither Homecomings.
