very rare quartersawn madagascar rosewood guitar set luthier tonewood back sides

Description: Madagascar rosewood guitar set, backs are 7.8 wide at lower bout, 21.5 long, sanded to about 0.15540 thick. The sides are 32 long, 4.8 to 4.1 wide, sanded at about 0.105thick. A few saw marks still present. A true dalberiga, mad rose is blessed with some of the longest fibers of any wood, and some believe this is the secret to its legendary taptone. brown/ smoky colors, well quartered mad rose like this is perfect for tone and stability. Please note: This set is just barely 7.75 wide at lower bout due to a pith related defect on the lower bout. This is photographed up close in pics 5,6 and 7 all photos of reverse face(inside body) because that face is slightly narrower at the 7.75. Also there are some spots not quite sanded cleanly on one side plate(last 2 pic reverse of sides), will still finish out at about 0.095 thick with careful hand sanding. Very difficult to find backs quartered across lower bout like this with pith at extreme outer edge. Being a true dalberigia this wood is wonderfully fragrant when sanded. photographed dry Nice clean set that will become only rarer. Dry and ready to build after acclimating to your shop. From an old billet(7+ years), recently resawn. Very stable. True dalbergia with a nice ringing taptone. Lots of pics, very beautiful..Edges have not been jointed.
