The film's special effects by the amazing Ray Harryhausen, was his last Dinosaur themed film. He had inherited the film project from his mentor, Willis O'Brien (responsible for the effects in the original King Kong, 1933). Trapped in a hidden valley of Gwangi for millions of years, the allosaurus called Gwangi is one of the most fearsome beasts the Wild West has ever seen. Traditionally sculpted by the artisans of the famed creature shop of Kaibutsuya, this detailed Gwangi statue is modeled on the puppet created by famed stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen. Each hand-painted piece is made from soft vinyl. The Gwangi's impressive dimensions are 10"H X 9.84"W X 16.5"L and weighs approximately 10 lbs. boxed. Of course the Monster was meticulously hand painted & finished to the highest standards which Star Ace Toys Ltd is known for. *The Deluxe Version features a polyresin display diorama base with a dead Pteranodon and a dismembered wing that can be displayed in Gwangi’s mouth for enhanced display.
