SUZANi (Tajik Suzana, Uzbek So'zana, Persian سوزندو) is a hand-embroidered wall carpet that is mainly made in Uzbekistan. The word suzane in translation from the Tajik language means “sewn with a needle”. The art of making such fabrics in Iran is called suzandozi (Pers. سوزندوزی). Suzane, as a rule, is embroidered with silk or floss with seams "kandakhiel" (type of smooth surface), "basma" (smooth surface attached), "yurma" (tambour), on cotton fabric, silk or velvet.
