USAF Command Pilot Wings 2” Miniature “Remove After Connecting Ripcord” Streamer

Description: U.S. Air Force Command Pilot wings attached to “Remove After Connecting Ripcord” streamer. The wings are 2" long (miniature size) and unmarked. The wings have a clutch back. The age and manufacturer of the wings are unknown. The streamer is presumably a parachute streamer, although its specific use is not known. The significance of the wings being attached to the streamer is also unknown. These items are from the estate of Captain Nelson Krueger, who was TWA’s youngest pilot when he was 21, and a pilot for Shepard One, the TWA Boeing 727 aircraft used by Pope St. John Paul II on his 1979 tour of the U.S. The wings are in good to very good used condition with signs of age and wear, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, indentations, some minor discoloration, and perhaps some loss of finish. The streamer appears to be in good used condition with signs of age and wear, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, several small holes, wrinkles, creases, some frayed fabric along the edges (this may be difficult to see in the photos), spots, stray marks, rub marks, scuff marks, stains, and soiling. The posts on the wings and the metal pin on the end of the streamer may be slightly bent. Please see photos, as they constitute part of the description.
