As the war drew to a close the squadron supportedOperation Eagle Pull (on 12 April 1975 Khmer Rouge were threatening the capital of Phnom Penh and AC-130s were called upon to help in Operation EAGLE PULL, the final evacuation of US and allied officials from Phnom Penh before it fell to the communists), Operation Frequent Wind, the evacuation of Saigon and figured prominently in the rescue of the cargo ship SS Mayagüez.
