Description: This is an upscale of the Estes Alpha III kit from the 1970’s. This was kit #1256 and it had a distinctive black, red and white paint scheme that was a personal favorite of mine.This kit comes with a BT-70 (2.2" dia.) body tube, Laser-cut, plywood fins and rings, a 3D printed resin nose cone, laser-cut bulkhead plate for the cone, 29mm motor tube, Kevlar brand shock cord, assembly diagram, painting and flying guide and self-adhesive decals like the original.The resin nose cone has a small drain hole in the tip as part of the manufacturing process that must be filled with modeling putty, or epoxy. The resin is easy to sand and takes paint well.The prototype for this kit was expertly built and successfully flown by Thomas Lair on an F42-8T. This rocket can be flown on F to small G motors.This is an advanced construction kit that requires you to slot your own body tube. This kit is not recommended for beginners.This kit does not include a parachute, recovery harness or motor retention so you can use your preferred methods. An 18" to 24" Nylon Parachute, mid-power recovery harness and Estes 29mm motor retainer is what we recommend and those items are available in our store, but there are numerous other ways of rigging this type of rocket.We always combine shipping when possible and refund excess shipping charges.
