Description: One 2" unique round cast iron rosette / door escutcheon. I know I will probably hear from many of you that this is not so unique but I sell a lot of different escutcheons and these are the only ones I've ever come across with a notch cast into the knob section. I thought that it looked like it was designed for a special knob or lock that would set into the space. Got some nice information from a visitor who said that the slot was for easy access to the screw. Makes so much sense it must be true. Always feel free to email me your comments or observations as so many little details are hard to come by. These have a date stamped into the back Pat July 15, 1862. Interesting that these were patented during the Civil War. Well-made stuff lasts. Sold separately. They will go with pretty much any antique or vintage doorknob that have a 1/2" to 11/16" shaft. A 3/4" will not fit. Rosettes are sold Separately. EE-54
