January 7, 1972 -- The Lakers win their 33rd consecutive game with a 134-90 victory over Atlanta. August 19, 1988 -- Wayne Gretzky is traded to the Los Angeles Kings. March 2, 1940 -- Seabiscuit wins the Santa Anita Handicap. These are just a few of the 100 great Los Angeles sports moments (which include baseball, football, basketball, hockey, golf, horseracing, track & field, Olympics, boxing, soccer, auto racing and more) described in this book. This is truly one of the best sports books I have ever read. In addition to the great photography, there are team photos, reproductions of sports pages, magazine covers and much more.
