Description: Ulysses S. Grant born Hiram Ulysses Grant [1822 1885] was an American soldier, politician and statesman who served as the 18th president of the United States from 1869 to 1877. During the American Civil War Grant led the Union Army to victory over the confederacy. Listed for auction is a stunning display which contains the authenticated autograph of Ulysses S. Grant. The autograph is signed on a card, '' U.S. Grant '' in black pen. The autograph is bold, displays wonderfully and the card measures 3.75 x 2.50 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph has been authenticated by JSA James Spence Authentication Service and will be accompanied with the above Letter of Authenticity. The display is stunning and has been centered around a wonderful, colorized formal military image [8.00 x 10.00 inches] of general Grant as a Union commander in the rank of lieutenant general. Mounted on both sides of his autograph is a pair of Civil War lieutenant generals shoulder boards which contain three stars, matching his rank in the photograph. The shoulder boards are quality reproductions which measure 4.00 x 1.50 inches. Mounted below is a professionally engraved plaque which reads as follows, ''Ulysses S. Grant April 27, 1822 - July 23, 1885. Grant served as the 18th president of the United States from 1869 to 1877. During the American Civil War Grant led the Union Army as its commanding general to victory over the Confederacy with the supervision of President Abraham Lincoln''. The display has been professionally assembled and triple matted in all acid free materials with great attention to detail as follows. The outer matte is a quality linen in Union blue which has been accented with a black and a gold inner matte. The frame has been completed in a quality ornate silver wood frame to the dimensions of 28.00 x 19.00 inches.
