From my research online, I found this book to be a biography of General Sir John Grenfell Maxwell (1859 -- 1929). He was a British Army officer and colonial governor. He served in the Mahdist War in the Sudan, the Second Boer War, and in the First World War, but he is best known for ordering the execution of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland. (from Wikipedia) The book is 329 pages long, describing Maxwell's life. H.R.H. Prince Arthur, Prime Minister Asquith, and Lord Kitchener figured prominently in this life. Good Condition [ No Dustjacket, Covers have a cosmetic stain that has caused fading on lower 2 inches of front cover and small spots elsewhere (see pics; the stain does not enter the internal pages at all!), both endpapers are moderately tanned; otherwise, text is very clean, unmarked by owners, no unpleasant scent, well-bound, square with sharp corners, tight with strong hinges, solid, sharply printed, and well-illustrated with sharp images ] 329 pages, approx. 8.75" x 5.75" x 1.25", red cloth covers, gilded titles, top edge gilt, Hardcover Book Welcome international ebay shoppers.
